On October 26, 2011, a Lakewood, Ohio police officer observed a 1998 Saturn SLI driving on a blown-out tire. A slow speed chase ensued. It was terminated in front of a fire station on Clifton Blvd. Video footage from the primary chase car was not made available.

His no-turning-back decision to cooperate with the government was made public recently in a rare disclosure in court papers.

"We are very confident he is in a very safe position," federal prosecutor Jay Hileman said Wednesday. "We can't comment on the extent of his protection."

Sillers, 49, pleaded guilty to racketeering earlier this year just before 34 other gang members and associates were indicted.

Insane footage: Anchorage police Shoot-out [FATAL] [NEW 2013]

State investigators ruled Anchorage police were within their rights when they used deadly force in a shooting that killed 25-year-old Carl Bowie III. The State Office of Special Prosecutions and Appeals released its ruling Monday. When Anchorage police announced the ruling, they also showed video from a camera mounted on a police vehicle of the shooting and the events leading up to it.

The footage shows a green Ford F-150 narrowly missing hitting officers on foot, then backing up. On its way back, two officers -- Alan Rydberg and Roger Billiet -- shoot through the truck windows. Police said this is not how they wanted the call to end.

It started with a call from a dispatcher who was off-duty. She noticed a man peering in windows at the Dimond Center. She snapped photos of him and called police. Police said the description of the vehicle Bowie left in matched that of a truck that was stolen that morning. He led police on a chase for eight minutes. Police say the autopsy results don't suggest Bowie was under the influence of any substances, but they did find traces of marijuana.

A woman was riding with him. At a press conference today, Police Chief Mark Mew said officers had to make a quick judgment about firing in the truck with another person inside.

Mew said aggressive suspects like Bowie are becoming more common. "It seems to me that we're seeing more of that. We haven't done a study yet to determine you know exactly what types of assaults are leading to these officer-involved shootings. However we're going to do that."

He said the APD wants to meet with Alaska State Troopers and the FBI to look more closely at those events to prevent violence in the future.

A high speed police chase involving a bank robbery suspect Wednesday was dangerous at times, with cops throwing out spike strips and close calls with other vehicles.

It all started at the Trustmark Bank off the Katy Freeway and lasted for about a half hour. The chase took off on the South Loop near Kirby and went around the city, before coming back down I-45 and ending not far from where it started.
